"Outside View of the Water End of a Mill House"

The Mill Project

Historic Ellicott City, Inc. wants to bring a mill back to the mill town of Ellicott City, Maryland. The Historic District has been home to a variety of mills, beginning with those built by the Ellicott brothers in 1772. Be a part of this important project with your contribution.

The Mill Project is a wonderful opportunity to tell the story of our town, founded on the productive talents of the Ellicott Brothers and their mills.

Previously, HEC, Inc. has restored, preserved or programmed the Ellicott City B&O Railroad Station Museum, the Thomas Isaac Log Cabin, the Heritage Orientation Center, the George Ellicott House and over twenty decorator show houses.

The proceeds from the Longwood Decorator Show House was used for the Mill project; however, more funds will be needed to make this project a reality. Contribute today.

BE A PART OF HISTORY!

It is exciting to think that by participating in this effort to reproduce a mill in the Historic District of Ellicott City, Maryland, you will be helping educate future generations about the unique history of this region.

Visitors from all over the world will learn from the instructive displays planned for the facility‹how the wheat was grown, ground, and sent to market.

The waterside location will also lend itself to informative displays regarding the history of floods in the area.
